I always look to the Word of God for understanding of the atheist, atheism.

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good,” (Psalm 14:1).

“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened,” (Romans 1:21)

When I do meet a self-described atheist I always ask him/her, “When did you decide to become an atheist?” Without exception they can point to an event, and/or point in time. The goal is to let them see they made a decision to reject the living God that in their heart he/she knew as real. I find that the place to hone in on and begin to teach.

Of course, only the Word of God can do the convincing and convicting (John 16:7-11). So, with His Word I let Him do the work. They may have rejected Him, but he IS God and will accomplish that which He wills with and where His Word is sown. (Isaiah 55:11).

LouLou Martuneachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08683967904677815711noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30991724.post-71505257879622979342012-03-29T09:11:17.573-05:002012-03-29T09:11:17.573-05:00This true & revealing statement has been said ...This true & revealing statement has been said by many: "I don't have enough faith to be an Atheist."

Atheism is a willful defiance against the truth that is plainly evident. The Atheist is so committed do his denial of God that he willingly accepts endless violations of established, verified, and valid physical, chemical, and logical laws.

The Church which is His Body is failing in holding these people to account for their lack of reason.

KevKevlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18080346872086553798noreply@blogger.com
